ACTION BUDDIE - ONE NUCLEAR BOMB CAN RUIN YOUR ACTION BUDDIE
Engineered and
produced by Grammy-winning producer Adam Kasper (Foo Fighters,
Aerosmith, Queens of the Stone Age, R.E.M., Peter Frampton, Pearl Jam,
GG Allin, etc.). Sounds of rock, punk, and funk highlighted by an
overall eighties style of rap. The music breaks down barriers that have
not previously been crossed. Action Buddie have been described as the
second coming of Fishbone, with a fresh, new approach. Punk and metal
reporters likened them to a different group, Bad Brains. However,
Action Buddies sound is very original, and distinctly different from
the music of both bands to which they are often compared. Action Buddie
hail from Seattle, where they are considered legendary by local
musicians! They have played up and down the coast for the better parts
of five decades, if allowed to cheat and use the end of the eighties
and the beginning of the twenty-twenties. This compact disc includes
the complete album So Who That Mutha, plus three additional tracks
recorded in the nineties. All tracks have been completely remastered by
Jack Endino (Soundgarden, Nirvana, etc.). The band is ecstatic about
the new energy Jack brings to the release. Enjoy this masterpiece.

BAD HABIT - HOW BAD DO YOU WANT IT?
In 1986, during the
great days of the demo, BAD HABIT produced and recorded their first
release, which was self-titled. Legendary Metal producer and gifted
songwriter Oscar Holleman then took the band under his wing. Holleman
is credited with producing over three hundred albums, including work by
Helloween, Vengeance, Nailpin, After Forever and Salems Lot, on such
labels as Warner Bros., Capitol, Universal, Epitaph and Nuclear Blast.
Holleman showed BAD HABIT how to make the most of their studio time,
and the result was the groups second demo, Come Together. Their third
demo, Kick That Habit, was produced by Lars Varga. For Back on Track,
their fourth demo, they were again able to secure Hollemans services.
Finally, in the spring of 1994, BAD HABIT said "To Hell with demos!"
They recorded Fools Paradise, a full-length album containing ten songs,
produced once again by Holleman. The bands career ended on April 5th,
1997, when they gave their final show in their hometown of Tilburg, and
a sold-out audience gave them multiple well-deserved standing ovations.
P.I.G. Records considers BAD HABIT to be as important to Dutch culture
as Golden Earring, Death Metal kings Pestilence, Rembrandt and Van
Gogh. This historic collection includes all four of BAD HABITs demos,
remastered. It encompasses much of the history of one of the greatest
groups ever to come out of Holland, a country
which-incorrectly-generally has not been considered a hotbed of music.
Most Dutch bands, with the obvious exceptions of Golden Earring and
Pestilence, have had trouble getting their music heard outside of the
Netherlands. Unfortunately, BAD HABIT was no exception. Many Dutch
Heavy Metal historians have suggested that if the group had been able
to break into the American market, they would have had the success that
Mercyful Fate and Fastway enjoyed, and perhaps even reached the level
of Iron Maiden. However, BAD HABIT did not tour North America, nor did
they get much press or radio play in the United States. This demo
compilation marks the first time their music has been released in North
America. Better late than never!

KILLER SMILES, THE - RAISING THE STAKES
East Bay Ray of Dead
Kennedys fame has fired back up his side project The Killer Smiles with
Raising The Stakes, propping his signature surf/punk guitar riffs up
against twelve brand new songs.
The album doesn't waste any time, locking in the EBR guitar tone on the
title track and establishing a high energy level, "You're Such A Fake"
haunts with familiar delay and reverb effects that carry over to the
leads of "Area 51," featuring a nice driving beat from drummer Steve
Wilson.
Wilson and Ray are joined with Greg Reeves and Ron "Skip" Greer, all
showcasing the current Dead Kennedys touring line-up, and you can tell
by how solid and cohesive the release is. The long desert rock of "The
Runner" is no exception, and the slow number builds fantastically for
four minutes. "It's Broken" is a great moment on the record, and a
shining vocal watermark for singer Skip.
"Lipstick Cherry Red" bleeds of influence from Butthole Surfers
vocalist, and album producer Paul Leary, and "Safe and Sound" buries
lead guitar parts with Clash level ska. "I'm A User" pays homage to the
pop elements of a classic Rancid song, and is the catchiest song on the
album. The Killer Smiles thoughtfully step in and out of different
boxes throughout the record in a terrific way. "The Last Time You
Failed" is a tremendous moment on the album, allowing Skip to establish
a true writing identity that yanks him far away from just being "that
guy from Wynona Riders that sings Jello's parts in Dead Kennedys."

LOCKDOWN JUNKIES - EXTENDED
The LOCKDOWN JUNKIES
is a project created by the Lockdown. This is what happens when you
sideline four touring musicians. They begin to write, record, and jam
with friends. When travel restrictions abound, local musicians get
together with other known locals. That's exactly what happened in a
town just northwest of Bologna, Italy called Poviglio. These four
musicians, (Mauro, Casey, Tommy, and Paulo,) have navigated their way
through the pandemic by getting together for 'birra' (beer) and making
music, some of the best music in the world has to offer. With forty
years of Raw Power, the success of Rigor Mortis, GWAR, Beer Pong, and
Extrema all essentially on hold, these three Italians plus one American
chose to get together and keep music alive. A sideline band of
creativity and different ideas of those from their regular musical
endeavors was born out of the pandemic. Something to jam to and relax
to and take their minds off the suffering caused by Covid. PIG Records
is proud to offer this COVID CREATION by four gentlemen who mean as
much to the musical culture of Italy as Archimedes, Galileo, Marco
Polo, and Mark Anthony mean to the country's history.
The LOCKDOWN JUNKIES dedicate this recording to all the families and
friends in the world who have lost a loved one to the syndrome. Not
everything that comes out of the pandemic has to be bad. The LOCKDOWN
JUNKIES gift to you is their music and while they cannot revive the
deceased, they can comfort the living with their songs in the hopes
that it takes the mind off of the pandemic for a few minutes.
