Isadora / Leonor Gonzlez Mina

HIGHLIGHTS First-ever 7" release of Isadora's sought-after 1973 groove "Negro, Negro." Killer mid-tempo Latin funk with Afro percussion, hypnotic organ and heavy drum brakes. Includes the first-ever reissue of Leonor González Mina & Columna de Fuego's rare 1973 recording "Matabará el Hombre Bueno. Two outstanding Colombian recordings from the early 1970s, available together on 7" for the first time. Essential for fans of Latin funk, Afro-Colombian sounds and deep dancefloor discoveries. DESCRIPTION 'Negro, Negro' is an irresistible mid-tempo groove packed with sublime arrangements, originally featured on her debut solo album (1973). Afro-inspired percussion, funky drum breaks, mysterious vocals that sound as if they were lifted from a obscure library music record, and the hypnotic organ that accompanies Isadora's voice throughout the song come together to create a mesmerizing rhythm that draws the listener in. Essential listening for fans of tracks like Sola's "Tabú, Tabú," Latin funk, or the groovier side of artists as diverse as The Doors and Serge Gainsbourg. First-ever 7-inch release. On the flip side is one of the few recordings made together by the legendary singer Leonor González Mina-known as "La Negra Grande de Colombia" ("The Great Black Woman of Colombia")-and Columna de Fuego, the band that briefly served as her backing group in the early 1970s. 'Matabará el Hombre Bueno' (1973) opens with a series of explosive brass and percussion passages that establish the frenetic signature sound of Columna de Fuego, recalling the style of their only album, recorded just a year later and reissued by Vampisoul in 2023. The track then evolves into an Afro-Colombian-inspired piece that showcases the hallmark elements of Leonor González Mina's recordings. First time reissue.
