Tickets
HIGHLIGHTS The only single released (1970) by Spanish band Tickets is a highly coveted collector's item, appealing both to hard-rock fans (they were the first incarnation of Asfalto) and to fans of the exquisite pop duo Vainica Doble, with whom they collaborated and recorded. 'El rigor de las desdichas' brings together the best of both worlds: psychedelic-rock arrangements combined with Vainica Doble's delightfully pop-inflected touches. First reissue. DESCRIPTION This sole single by Tickets has become a highly sought-after collector's item over the years. In addition to its undeniable quality-it ranks among the finest psychedelic pop records with hard-rock touches recorded in Spain at the time-the record is sought after both by heavy-rock completists and by admirers of the Spanish pop duo Vainica Doble. Tickets were none other than the first incarnation of the legendary band Asfalto. What's more, it was Tickets who provided the musical backing for Vainica Doble on the first single released by Carmen Santonja and Gloria Van Aerssen. It is therefore no coincidence that Side A of this Tickets single, 'El rigor de las desdichas', was composed by Vainica Doble themselves. Both records were released in 1970 and sold only modestly. In Tickets' case, this marked the end of their discography under that name, paving the way for a new chapter that would turn them into one of the defining hard-rock bands in Spain: Asfalto. First reissue.
